Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Photoacoustic imaging is an imaging method having characteristics of both light and ultrasound, and has attracted attention in medical applications as the method of visualizing the region which could not be seen with light or ultrasound alone in recent years. On the other hand, however, few studies have investigated the photoacoustic properties of living tissues and cells. Therefore, the objective of this research is to develop photoacoustic microscopy that enables cell level visualization. In order to achieve this objective, a transmission-mode photoacoustic microscope using a high frequency transducer and a high NA objective lens was fabricated. We examined efficient photoacoustic signal acquisition method using the manufactured microscope and verified its usefulness by acquiring photoacoustic signals from black tape and red tape.
