Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes about a text preservation tool in the vowel mouse shape and scanning communication method for persons with intractable neurological diseases (ALS, Muscular Dystrophy patient). In this method, at first the patient pronounces one vowel and care-giver recognize its vowel shape, and next care-giver scans (announces) the consonant row (in the 50 characters board). After that, the patient makes a wink as a sign and care-giver understand one character which the patient wants to let them know. These processes are repeatedly executed, and then the patients can express one’s intentions. Though this communication method has good transmission efficiency, a lot of workloads are overlapping to care-giver. So we propose text preservation tool to lessen these workloads on the caregiver.
