Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Medical ultrasound imaging has high performance in observing various organs. However, there is a problem that the image quality in ultrasonic tomographic imaging deteriorates due to the heterogeneity of sound velocity in in vivo tissue. It is also known that the sound velocities change in the living body, particularly in the livers, due to fatty metamorphosis. Therefore, it is possible to improve the image quality in ultrasonic tomographic imaging and to diagnose fatty liver disease by estimating the sound velocity distribution in the living body. In this paper, we investigated relationships between the diameter of the target scatterer and estimation accuracy in the sound velocity through basic experiments to estimate sound velocities using reflected waves from scatterers with different diameters set in water.
