Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When the entire object in the field of view of an animal moves in a certain direction, the animal moves its body in the same direction (optomotor response, OMR). In this study, the OMR of C57BL/6 mice to rotating drum stimulation was measured using an experimental system combined with a wide field display and a spherical treadmill. It was found that two of the three mice used in the experiment showed a rotating motion corresponding to the head movement in the same direction as the stimulation increased during visual stimulation. The upper limit speed of drum rotation for OMR induction was greater than the OKR of ocular movement reported previously. Therefore, it is suggested that the OMR system uses error components that cannot be compensated by OKR.
