Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Decreased thyroid function in the fetal and juvenile period causes mental retardation and motor function decline. In this study, open-field behavioral testing and resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) analysis of the brain were performed on transient hypothyroidism mice prepared by pharmacological manipulation. The rsFC analysis revealed that the negative correlation between the secondary motor cortex and the parietal temporal association area was stronger in the low activity mice of the test group than the control group. These results suggest that a histological abnormality of the brain is expressed as a difference in the structure of the rsFC network of the brain.
