抄録(和) | With the dense deployment of small cell base stations (SBSs), the radio access network can boost spectrum efficiency. To address the energy burden of SBSs, energy harvesting SBSs (EH-SBSs), which exploit renewable energy instead of the power grid, has a great deal of attention. This paper aims to investigate an efficient utilization of the renewable energy while supporting time-varying user demands. To this end, a Q-learning based cell zooming scheme is proposed. In the scheme, the transmission power and activation/deactivation of EH-SBSs are jointly decided through the real-time interactions with the collected state information (i.e., the harvested power, the state of charge of batteries, and the active user density). Simulation results show that the Q-learning approach can follow the change of users’ density by deciding the adequate transmission power and activation/deactivation. |
