A fundamental study on the effect of body metal on dynamic wireless power transfer to electric vehicles

Abstract(in English) Wireless power transfer systems for electric vehicles has advantages on safety and convenience in static charging and on extension of the limited mileage per charge and lightning of the battery in dynamic charging.Consideration of the effect of body metal which exist behind the receiving coil as well as metal object between coils is necessary for improvement of the efficiency in magnetic resonant wireless power transfer. In this report, the effect of metal plates which simulate the body metal of electric vehicles is evaluated at the maximum wireless transmission power of 6 kW in terms of transmission efficiency and power loss. The suitable metal constitution of the body metal which exist behind the receiving coil is also proposed.
