Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A brainmorphic information processing system that is inspired brain functions has the ability to execute information processing with lower power consumption and higher speed in comparison a conventional von Neumann computer. We carry out a cultured neuronal network experiments and computer simulation to study how the spatiotemporal dynamics on neuronal circuits can be applied to information processing. In this work, we used computer simulations to investigate the effect of modular structure and inhibitory neurons of the neuronal circuit on network dynamics. It was revealed that the spatial complexity of neuron firing on the network composed of excitatory and inhibitory neurons changes depending on the network modularity. It was also shown that the dynamics is most complicated when the ratio of inhibitory neurons in the network is approximately 20-30%. |
