Abstract(in English) | Recently, the amount of traffic in wireless local area network (WLAN) is still increasing due to expansion of Internet of things (IoT) applications and off-loading of cellular traffic. To meet the increasing demand, enhancement of spectral efficiency and throughput of the WLAN is strongly necessary. Therefore, we have been developing a WLAN system which simultaneously transmits multiple wireless frames over multiple frequency bands such as 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The transmitter divides a data block into several pieces, and transmits them after adding a preamble signal over different frequency bands at the same time. The receiver can obtain frequency diversity by integrating the received frames through channels with different propagation characteristics. In previous our study, we assume that the physical layer is based on a standard of wireless LAN such as IEEE 802.11n/ac in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. In this paper, we discuss simultaneous transmission using tri-band as 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 920 MHz bands. In particular, we propose two types of frame structure. One introduces a new preamble which is same length of IEEE 802.11n/ac into 920 MHz band in order to achieve higher MAC efficiency. The other uses a preamble of IEEE 802.11ah in 920 MHz band to keep structure has backward compatibility. Simulation results show the frame structure with backward compatibility is more effective. |
