Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Target displacements during saccades are harder to be noticed than those during fixations (Saccadic Suppression of Image Displacement, SSID). Inserting a short blank immediately after saccades degrades SSID (blanking effect). To examine either a target absence or discontinuity is important for SSID, the present study compared displacement thresholds for four conditions concerning target blanking and flickering. The results showed that target blanking reduced thresholds however flickering had no effects, suggesting that images immediately after saccades have important role for visual stability across saccades.
