| Abstract(in English) | We propose novel blind polarization tracking algorithms for the Stokes vector receivers, applying the concept of the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and the radius directed equalization (RDE) algorithm to the process. Compared to the conventional scheme with 2×3 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), the algorithms offer simpler solutions because they require the calculation of only two equations in each update for SOP tracking, while the MIMO-based scheme requires the calculation of six coefficients. Using computer simulations, we confirm that when state-of-polarization (SOP) fluctuates very rapidly, the proposed algorithms can track the fluctuation with negligible power penalties compared to the ideal situation. |
