Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Techniques have been developed that allow you to enter characters by looking at among many items displayed on the screen. In such systems, the physical position of the eye-gaze is usually detected by using a camera. In the systems, it is necessary to fix the head position usually and to do calibration frequently for precise eye measurements. In addition, there are problems such as a large variation of data among individuals and within an individual. In this study, we propose a method for eye-gaze input system using the luminance fluctuation of the input target stimulus and data of the pupil variation. Specifically, we examined a method to identify the object that eye-gaze is directed to by the difference in the phases of periodical luminance changes and the timing of pupil light reflex. As a result, we showed that the method can predict the gaze point quite accurately for the sysem to choose one object in 2 and 4 items. In addition, we examined a method to use various phase and frequency of luminance change to choose one object among more than 10 items.
