| Abstract(in English) | System logs are commonly used for monitoring, recording, and managing systems in service. However there is no specific rule to describe logs. Thus the format of log output is largely different depending on systems. For efficiently extracting information from system logs, it is necessary to create log templates that regulate the type of logs to be output. In this work, for networking parts of open source software (Vyatta), we design and implement log template generation algorithm from the source code and report the knowledge obtained when actually creating log templates. We also evaluate and compare the performance of existing log template generation methods from log data. Furthermore, we discuss what kind of log output function is appropriate for automatic analysis. |
