An Improvement of Replica Delivery Method by Short Distance Communications among Mobile Terminals

Abstract(in English) This report proposes an efficient data transmission method by direct and short-range communications with mobile terminals based on Epidemic Routing. In a previous study, when a message packet arrives at its destination node, it floods ack packets called “anti-packets,” and deletes the other message packets remaining in the network in order to use the buffer memories of the other terminals efficiently. However, since anti-packets are not issued until the message arrives its destination, spreading the wasted messages cannnot be stopped sufficiently. Therfore in this report, the timing of anti-packet's issue is accelerated by observing the number of nodes the messages have gone through, and the wasted messages can be stopped earlier. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulations, whichshow that the message arrival rate is improved and average time required for message arrival is shortened.
