Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We here propose a novel MAC control method, Separated Transmission Opportunity Control (STOC), based on IEEE 802.11e EDCA in order to improve throughputs while maintaining fairness by inducing parallel transmissions utilizing frame capture effect between wireless LANs while avoiding frame collision error in a wireless LAN. Radio interference between wireless LANs is becoming a problem while mobile wireless LANs including tethering nodes and mobile routers have been spreading. The problem is that high quality communications could not be guaranteed when influence of interference between wireless LANs is large. Frame capture effect is one of the key points to improve throughputs on mobile wireless LANs. The proposed idea, STOC is simple enough to be implemented and is also enough effective. As a result of our simulation, throughputs is improved up to 35% in bi-directional UDP flows and up to 15% in TCP flows compared with conventional methods.
