Abstract(in English) | Stabilizing a remote control system through a communications network is difficult because such a network brings about time delay, which is called dead time in control theory. State-predictive control methods have been developed to stabilize a control system that contains dead time. In this paper, authors point out that if the network has large delay jitter, conventional state-predictive control cannot achieve stability because a prediction error becomes significant due to variation of the arrival time of control inputs. Authors also present a novel state-predictive control that adjust the magnitude of a control input on the basis of the prediction variation due to the delay jitter. Furthermore, the proposed control is evaluated by a simulation of an inverted pendulum system through a network with delay jitter. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control improves the robustness for delay jitter. |
