| Abstract(in English) | In recent years, deep neural networks (DNNs) is becoming the main stream of data processing. In fact, DNN-based approaches are the best performing ones in many applications. Have traditional signal processing approaches become old-fashioned in the era of DNNs? In our recent research activities, we found that collaborative processing by the proper combination of traditional signal processing techniques and DNN-based ones can achieve better performance than state-of-the-art DNN-only techniques. For instance, we have been developing an approach that can efficiently pick-up the advantages of the traditional and DNN-based techniques. It is also possible to let DNN-based approaches use traditional approaches in their internal processing. In my invited talk, I will introduce some representative works of such new approaches in our research group particularly on image processing. |
