Abstract(in English) | In this report, we handle a remote control system with haptics in which a user can operate a haptic interface device at a remote location while watching video by using another haptic interface device. Then, we investigate the effect of the adaptive viscoelasticity control, which dynamically selects the optimum elasticity and viscosity coefficients according to the stroke speed and network delay, for work of writing characters by Quality of Experience (QoE) assessment. In the selection of the optimum viscosity coefficient, the writing speed is smoothed to avoid sudden speed changes. In the QoE assessment, we compare the case in which the writing speed is smoothed and the case in which the writing speed is fixed to some values. As a result, we demonstrate that the smoothing of writing speed is effective when the network delay is larger than about 50 ms. |
