Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we investigate a robot's representation of its internal psychological state using artificial physiological phenomena such as breath, heartbeat and bodily temperature. Our previous study showed that the effect of robot's breathing expression includes two factors, arousal and valence (positive--negative), and that the heartbeat and bodily temperature affect only arousal. In this paper, we focused on detailed expressions: the ratio of inspiratory and expiratory amount and the variability of heartbeat. We discussed whether the changes of their expressions affect the assumed internal state, that is the emotional valence of the robot.
