Abstract(in English) | In IoT systems utilizing a large amount of small-sized sensor data, a data aggregation function, which summarizes spatially distributed data, is effective for saving limited communication resources such as the radio frequency and sensor-node energy. In a previous study, we have analyzed two fundamental statistical data aggregation schemes: constant interval and constant number, and derived the stationary distribution and the Laplace-Stieltjes transform (LST) of a system time and a total system time for each aggregation scheme. We also derived simple and accurate approximation formulas for the optimal aggregation interval and number. In this paper, we analyze nonstatistical data aggregation scheme with the constant aggregation number. We analytically derive the stationary distribution and LST of the system time and the total system time and give an approximation for the mean total system time. We then numerically evaluated the stationary mean system time characteristics. We confirmed that the approximation gives sufficient accuracy for practical use. In addition, we clarified that the mean total system time has a linear relation to the overhead ratio, which corresponds to the header ratio to the transmitted data, and the optimal traffic intensity that minimizes the mean total system time does not depend on the overhead ratio. These results can provide a theoretical basis and guideline for designing aggregation devices such as IoT gateways. |
