Abstract(in English) | In mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), network resources such as battery capacity and bandwidth are limited. Therefore, it is particularly important to reduce unnecessary packet transfers and power to ensure on efficient multicast communication. When we use multicast, network coding is a useful technique for reducing unnecessary packet transmissions and reducing the power consumption. In ad hoc networks, the packet reduction effectivity of network coding depends on the network topology. In this paper, we measure a network topology suitability for network coding. To overcome this problem, a network can adaptively use network coding or flooding as the situation require. Traditionally networks can only use a single approach. And conduct experiments on scenarios in which network coding often perform poorly mobile scenarios to demonstrate our approach effectivity. |
