Abstract(in English) Sewer inspection needs much equipment costs, much labor cost and long workinghours. These costs make difficult that local governments carry out a statutoryinspection of all their sewer pipes. Thus cost cutting of sewer inspection isan important issue. We have proposed a scheme for labor-saving sewer screening, in which multiple wireless camera/sensor node drift down sewer water in a pipeand transmit video data to some access points installed at some manholes. Thispaper introduces measurement study of data transmission using IEEE802.11wireless LAN in a 200mm-diameter underground sewer pipe, cooperative video datatransmission scheme, the design of the video recording system and chassis, andnode localization schemes.
