Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is strictly proved that Polar code asymptotically reaches channel capacity with long code length. It is decided that Polar code is used in control channel on fifth generation mobile communications system (5G). In order to exhibit excellent decoding performance in Polar code, it is necessary to adequately set frozen bits which are shared on the transmitter and the receiver, and an arbitrary coding rate can be easily achieved by controlling the number of frozen bits. However, in the optical satellite communication, it is difficult to establish a stable communication link and the transmission delay is also relatively large. Therefore, it is difficult to adaptively change the coding rate according to the link state via bidirectional control information. However, we discovered that adaptive coding can be conducted by just adaptively changing the number of frozen bits in Polar codes. Thus, in this paper, we propose a one-way adaptive Polar coding scheme with estimating the transmission rate without requiring control information by superimposing coding rate information which is different from transmission information on the frozen bits, and estimating the coding rate based on successive cancellation list decoding on the receiver side. We evaluate its characteristics by computer simulation.
