Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a cost-effective, portable computing device, Raspberry Pi has become popular around the world. It can be used as a software access-point (AP) for the IEEE 802.11n wireless local-area network (WLAN). Since the built-in wireless network interface card (NIC) adapter does not support the channel bonding (CB), we studied the CB configuration using an external adapter. The CB can increase the throughput by bonding two channels into one. Besides, we measured throughput performances of wireless links between PC hosts and up to three Raspberry Pi APs under different adapters and channels at 2.4GHz with 11 partially overlapping channels (POCs). Then, to select the proper adapter and channel for each AP so as to maximize the WLAN performance, the accurate throughput estimation model is essential by reflecting the measurement results. In this paper, we present the modifications of the existing throughput estimation model by introducing the reduction factor to consider the throughput drop by interferences among concurrently communicating links. This factor can be derived by the CB use and the channel difference between the links. The effectiveness of the proposal is verified by comparing estimated throughputs with measured ones.
