Abstract(in English) To achieve high-quality video streaming on best-effort networks, adaptive video streaming methods that control video bitrate in accordance with fluctuation of network throughput have been developed. The authors have proposed an adaptive video streaming method using scalable video coding (SVC). The method controls bitrates of SVC layers and layers to send. This paper evaluated it in various networks and confirmed that its video quality is higher than conventional methods.
