Experimental Verification of dynamic carrier allocation using SC-FDMA in Autonomous Bandwidth Allocation FDMA

Abstract(in English) Autonomous Bandwidth Allocation FDMA (ABA-FDMA) is proposed for dynamically sharing unused bandwidth of satellite transponders among terminal stations in order to utilize frequency efficiency. This system is characterized in that each terminal station autonomously occupies the unused bandwidth of the satellite repeater without the complicated central control. In this technique, a transmission scheme for dynamically carrier allocation is necessary. In this paper, we describe that we have developed a prototype of a modulation / demodulation device that dynamically changes subcarrier ar-rangement using SC-FDMA in order to verify the quality of the proposed scheme. This system can flexibly change the number of subcarriers with a sampling frequency of 46.08 MHz and a range of 512 point FFT. As a result of the verifi-cation, it was confirmed that the dynamic transition of throughput was conducted without bit error while changing the subcarrier arrangement. As for BER characteristics, it was found out that the measured results of variable subcarriers were shown approximately 1dB degradation against the fixed ones.
