Line of Sight Rate in Relay Type GPS Using Mobile Terminals

Abstract(in English) In recent years, GPS has been widely used as a position calculation system using satellites. However, in urban areas, some GPS receivers may not be able to receive more than four GPS satellites, because some GPS signals are blocked by buildings. In order to solve this problem, relay type GPS has been proposed. In relay type GPS, it uses mobile terminals existing around the target GPS receiver to obtain position calculation of target GPS receiver. Therefore, in order to obtain the line of sight rate of 100% at the target GPS receiver, it is necessary for a plurality of G-MTs to transmit GPS signals. However, it has not been studied. In this paper, the probability that the number of GPS signals that can be received directly within 24 hours becomes 4 or more is taken as the line of sight rate, we have reported the evaluation of the line of sight rate of the target GPS receiver with simulation by changing the number of G-MT simultaneously transmits GPS signals in urban model.
