Abstract(in English) We demonstrate a C-band cladding pumped 19-core EDFA. We measure the 19-core EDF length dependence of amplification characteristics to obtain output power and gain band changes. We find optimum 19-core EDF length for C-band operation based on EDF length dependence. Obtained characteristics are compared with those of a 7-core EDFA.
