Abstract(in English) | It would be important to observe battery state of charge at each IoT device accurately even with small circuit area and low-power consumption in order to maintain system or service operation stably and continuously while handling huge amount of IoT devices. Measuring consumed coulomb count of device and/or internal impedance of battery accurately is required to observe battery state of charge. In this paper, we introduce an intermittently enabled coulomb counter that can reduce power consumption by 93% compared to conventional coulomb counter even with maintaining measurement accuracy, and measuring internal impedance of battery using pulse shaped input current that can eliminate AC current source and sample-hold circuit, which are conventionally required. |
