Abstract(in English) Mid-infrared sensing with a quantum cascade laser (QCL) as a light source is expected to offer high sensitivity, short measurement time, and good portability compared to conventional methods. However, commercially available QCLs have high power-consumption. Therefore, a large power supply is required to drive a QCL. For these reasons, a portable gas sensor using a QCL has not been realized. To address this issue, we developed low power-consumption QCL. Then we performed compact and high sensitive gas sensing with our low power-consumption QCL.
