Abstract(in English) | In the modern world where many devices all around the world communicate with each other, the total amount of the communication traffics is increasing at an accelerating rate. Therefore, the congestion of the traffic flows has been a serious problem. The most used communication protocol world wide called TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is known to degrade its communication performance when confronted with a network flow congestion. In order to deal with this problem, a congestion control method called AQM (Acive Queue Management) has been proposed, and various studies have been done. As a combination of control theory and AQM, an AQM congestion control method using PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller has been proposed. The AQM based on control theory utilizes a preset parameter called target queue length, but this value was set heuristically in existing studies and the router's buffering capacity was not fully utilized. In our previous research, we have presented a study of an algorithm which dynamically controls this target queue length in order to more efficiently utilize the buffering capacity. In this report, we consider the effect of different RTT (Round-Trip Time) and size of buffering capacity. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposal algorithm. |
