Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A specific absorption rate (SAR) is used for an assessment of a human exposure from wireless communication devices. Current conformity assessment procedure, which is called as full SAR measurement, evaluates the SARs in all available frequency bands and device conditions. However, IEC62209-1 provides a fast SAR measurement procedure to reduce a measurement time. In this study, we evaluate peak spatial SARs of five mobile phones with fast SAR measurement procedure. From these results, two of five results did not match results obtained by full SAR measurement procedure with a difference of 7 %. This problem can be solved by measuring the SARs in high and low channel of the frequency bands which obtain the highest SAR in middle channel. In addition, we consider a correlation between a measurement time reduction and an uncertainty of the SAR measurement, because fast SAR measurement uses measurement uncertainty to decide the measurement settings. The results show that increasing the uncertainty by three times results in a 25 % increase in measurement time. From this reason, it is necessary to decrease the measurement uncertainty for reducing the measurement time.
