Constellation Shaping for Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation with Pseudorandom Sequence

Abstract(in English) We propose a novel constellation shaping scheme for bit-interleaved coded modulation with pseudorandom sequence. For the proposed scheme, the pseudorandom sequence is concateneated with an input sequence of the encoder. This concatenation of the pseudorandom sequence makes each bit of an input sequence with unequal probability. We apply the shaping scheme especially for amplitude phase shift keying (APSK) which has been adopted by Digital Video Broadcasting Satellite standard Extensions, (DVB-S2X). Simulation results show that our proposed scheme can achieve nearly 0.25 dB gain over additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) channel compared with conventional scheme.
