| Abstract(in English) | Emergency communications connecting emergency agencies such as police, fire or ambulance are important social infrastructure for saving life of people, which are mandated to be provided by network carries not only in Japan but also in several countries. Due to the recent innovation of mobile technologies and spread of the Internet, in addition to the conventional voice call, new emergency communication systems have been studied. Telecommunication standard development organizations are actively discussing the specification of the new systems. The paper reports the latest trends of international standardization in 3GPP, and emergency communications in 5G system, which is completed in July 2018. It also reports the example of standardization activity for emergency communication for IP interconnection between network carriers which will be implemented in Japan, and discusses some future technical issues. |
