Abstract(in English) The metallic photonic crystal (MPhC) structure has provided a very attractive platform to design of various filters with low-cost, high Q-factor, and easy integration with planar circuits. The MPhC structure is synthesized on a planar substrate with periodic arrays of metallic via-holes or metallic posts by a standard printed circuit board (PCB:RT/ Duroid 5880). The MPhC structure is a type of rectangular waveguide synthesized in a substrate, which is composed of multiple rows of metallized via-holes with two metal plates on the top and bottom. In order to prove the validity of the MPhC BPFs, the proposed narrowband MPhC BPF on single layer printed circuit board is designed and experimentally examined. The measured results show that the filter achieves an insertion loss of 2.0 dB at 25 GHz and a return loss of higher than 15 dB. The proposed bandpass filter has a pass-band covers 24.7 to 25.3 GHz and its simulated and measured fractional bandwidth is about 2~5%. The measured results are in a good agreement with the simulated results.
