Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to promote replacing manual operation in ICT system with automated way effectively, it is important to measure process metrics such as elapsed time for each operation precisely so that we can identify the priority of tasks to be automated. However, metrics measurement in manual way or introducing measurement tools can increase operation workloads. To solve the problem, we propose a process metrics measurement framework integrated with execution of workflows in runbook. By using this framework, operators can measure and collect process metrics just by executing workflows along with operation runbooks. By implementing and applying this framework for a case study of security patch application process, we confirmed that it can identify the tasks to be automated and show us quantitatively how much time we can reduce by automation.
