Estimation of The Number of Users by Backoff and Collision Information on WLAN

Abstract(in English) Recently, the number of users using wireless devices is increasing. This causes a transmission rate degradation. To deal with this problem, two kinds of methods considering a backoff algorithm in CSMA/CA and an access control of Access Point (AP) are proposed. These methods need a parameter of the number of users. In this paper, the estimation method is proposed for the number of users by backoff and collision information. This method uses a probability of delay time in backoff algorithm and collision probability by simulation. The estimation results of proposed method is confirmed with simulation results.
