Abstract(in English) | A compact folded inverted-L antenna (FILA) with slits are studied to obtain broadband characteristics. The FILA consists of two strips that the terminals are open-circuited. The strips have several slits for miniaturization. Current path length of 0.5 wavelengths is provided between feed point and open-terminated for broadbanding. In order to evaluate radiation impedance, simultaneous feeding with the two conductors are modeled, and resonant frequency, radiation resistance and quality factor are calculated. Based on the results, a broadband FILA with six slits are designed. Then impedance and radiation characteristics of the FILA are simulated and measured. Evaluation of miniaturization for the FILA is conducted by using a product of bandwidth and radiation efficiency (Bη product) compared with those of simultaneous feeding models. As results, we obtained 41% improvement of the Bη product for ka = 0.53 compared with Bη of the simultaneous feeding models. |
