A Simple Backoff Scheme for Full Duplex MAC protocols in Wireless LANs

Abstract(in English) In the MAC protocol for full-duplex wireless LANs (FD-WLANs), an access pint (AP) and stations (STAs) can transmit data frame based on distributed coordination function. However, the initializations of backoff timer and CW value in the backoff method of FD MAC causes increasing of collisions and inter-user interference in FD-WLANs. This paper proposes a simple backoff scheme for FD-WLANs. In the proposed scheme, the CW value and backoff timer is not changed and is kept the current value after the FD secondary transmission. By using the proposed scheme, both AP and STA achieve optimal transmission probabilities for mitigating the frame collisions, which enhances the network throughput.
