Abstract(in English) A small cell is a base station that has small coverage area, and a technology to adapt rapid growth of wireless network traffic. Wireless backhaul is a technology to decrease installation and maintenance cost of small cell network by reducing amount of access cables. Our laboratory has been researching technologies to deploy wireless access area dynamically, with using wireless backhaul technology. This paper introduces wireless controlled vehicle “PicoRover2” that equips a wireless access point with wireless backhaul technology. Results of indoor experiments showed that PicoRover2 can set up wireless access area dynamically at requests of users, while reducing access points fixed at certain locations. This paper also describes applications of PicoRover2 based on the experimental results.
