Abstract(in English) | We propose a new approach to evaluate the impact caused by cascading failures for interdependent networks, where cascading failures are wide area damages caused by successive function stops of equipment started by a small trigger failure. While survival traffic rate was already known to evaluate the impact for a single network cascading, there is no research about applying it to interdependent networks. Now we first clarify it being effective for interdependent networks. We have implemented software program to evaluate survival traffic rate for interdependent network, and we found that that traditional measure for interdependent networks, and survival traffic measure show different characteristics in evaluation examples. This indicates that some countermeasures being effective from the point of previous measure might cause worse effectiveness from the point of survival traffic rate point of view. |
