Capacitance Matrix Calculation of Automotive Wire Harness by Using Machine Learning

Abstract(in English) In this report, the author proposes an efficient method to estimate the capacitance matrix of an automotive wire harness by means of a machine learning technique. A bundle of wires constituting the automotive wire harness can be regarded as a strongly-non-uniform multiconductor transmission line (MTL), which is modeled by calculating per-unit-length (p.u.l.) R, L, G, and C matrices associated with the cross-sections of the MTL. In this case, conventional methods generally rely on computational methods to solve a governing equation related to the p.u.l. parameter. In contrast, the proposed method focuses on the p.u.l. capacitance matrix and adopts a machine learning technique based on a neural network (NN). The input of the NN is an image of the cross-section of the MTL and the output is the entries of the p.u.l. capacitance matrix. By using the NN, we can calculate the p.u.l. capacitances without solving the equation. In addition, we discuss the performance of the NN by changing some parameters in the machine learning process.
