Extraction of local tropospheric delay variation in GNSS baseline analysis

Abstract(in English) It has been reported that a relatively large tropospheric delay gradients are often observed by GNSS stations in airports with a baseline length of several 100 m, However, its occurrence mechanism is not clear. Although the past analysis to investigate its characteristics is based on double difference of GNSS carrier phase measurements composed of four propagation paths from a combination among two GNSS satellites and two GNSS receivers. However, it is possible to examine time and spatial scales of tropospheric delay gradients if it is capable to use satellite-common single difference for monitoring tropospheric delay difference between GNSS stations directly. In this study, we employ a receiver with multiple RF input ports and Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) technology in order to use a common clock for signal processing two GNSS signals from antennas at the both ends of the baseline, and long-term data is being collected. From the preliminary analysis, it is possible to extract a variation of tropospheric delay gradients not only within a short period of 10 minutes, but also to recognize a long period’s variation over several hours in the tropospheric delay spatial gradient.
