Abstract(in English) Implementation of GNSS-based navigation systems for aircraft operation is expected to enable us to design flexible and efficient air traffic flow and realize 4-dimensional flight operation based on a trajectory from departure to arrival airports. GBAS (Ground-Based Augmentation System) is a navigation system to support precision approaches and landing using GNSS L1 signals, and high-level system safety is required. ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) specifies performance requirements for navigation systems as SARPs (Standards and Recommended Practices). Especially, category III (CAT-III) GBAS operation, which can guide arrival aircrafts to the runway surface even under low visible conditions, requires extreme high-safety. In this report, we explain its fundamental concept to realize such a navigation system guaranteed with high safety level, safety design and its validation through the prototype developed by the Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI) as an example case.
