Abstract(in English) | In cellular manufacturing factories composed of many processes, synchronized production is desirable in order to keep high production efficiency. However, it is difficult to keep these processes in synchronization because various disturbances are increasing due to diversification of consumer needs and complication of production processes. Therefore, a synchronization scheme which is robust against such disturbances, is required. In our previous study, we proposed a control law to synchronize automated guided vehicle (AGV) dispatch timing inspired by coupled oscillators. We modeled buffer dynamics of workstations and dispatch timing of AGVs in a cellular manufacturing factory as dynamics of oscillators. The control law modulates thresholds of the buffers to synchronize the dispatch timing for two oscillators system. We also showed that phase dynamics of our system corresponds to the dynamics of the well-known Kuramoto-model. In this study, we extend the control law for the arbitrary number of oscillators and analyze its dynamics. In addition, these analytical results are verified on some numerical simulations. |
