Stability analysis of bilateral arcs bouncing model by mapping method

Abstract(in English) The passive running is a method to descend a slope by a running gait only using potential energy. Active running necessitates some sensors and actuators; while, passive running does not require them. Therefore the passive running attracts attention as an ultimate energy-saving model control technology. As one of the specific examples, we proposed an extremely simple passive running model consisting of two arcs which face each other. In this study, we perform the non-liner stability analysis of the proposed model by a mapping method and examine the stable parameters which are suitable for producing a real passive running machine. It was revealed that the desired behavior in this study exists within the stability range obtained by stability analysis.
