Frequency Block-Dependent Online Probabilistic Transmission Power Control of Base Stations Based on Observed System Throughput in Heterogeneous Networks

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we extend our previously reported online probabilistic transmission power control of base stations (BSs) in heterogeneous networks in order to accommodate the case where the overall system bandwidth of pico BSs is divided into multiple frequency blocks and the transmission power control is conducted per-frequency block basis. In the previously reported transmission power control method, the transmission power of each pico BS is independently controlled online in probabilistic manner based on the observed system throughput level and transmission power state at each time, without relying on the cooperation between BSs. By using the proposed frequency block-dependent online probabilistic transmission power control, the granularity of the transmission power control is enhanced and inter-cell interference coordination is achieved, which results in a further gain in system throughput. Computer simulation results considering the user mobility quantitatively show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
