PAPR Reduction of OFDM with Trellis Shaping based on High-Order Moments

Abstract(in English) Trellis shaping (TS) controls transmit symbols by adding a codeword to themso as to reduce the PAPR of transmit signals. So far, two types of metrics have been proposed for TS: time domain (TD) metric and frequency domain (FD) metric. In this paper, we propose a new metric based on high-order moments in timedomain, and show that it can achieve remarkable performance in terms of PAPR reduction, power amplifier (PA) efficiency and bit error rate (BER) over nonlinear channels in return for its increasing complexity.
