Measurement of intermediate-frequency magnetic field emitted from a charging facility for electrical vehicles

Abstract(in English) Recently, electric vehicles (EV) are regarded as one of the predominant types of effective use of renewable energy for environmental protection. As EVs become common, demand for fast charging facilities expands. Concurrently, possible effects of the electromagnetic waves emitted from these facilites become a matter of concern. In this study, we focused on the intermediate-frequency magnetic field and performed a mesh measurement of the magnetic flux density of the electromagnetic fields generated by each of 6 types of fast charging facilities. Here, we made a comparison between the measured data and the ICNIRP reference level. As a result, the maximum magnetic flux density was 2.240 micro-tesla, which is much lower than the ICNIRP reference level. It is thus demonstrated that the induced current in the body of a user of fast charging facilities is so low that no eletric stimulus is expected.
