Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We conducted an experiment to compare four text entry methods in touch interface with a screen reader activated for five consecutive days. The text entry methods are composed of two software keyboards, four typing gestures, and two entry modes. In the experiment four text entry methods of them were compared in terms of text entry speed, learning speed and text entry errors. As the result, a learning curves were observed with all the text entry methods. The text entry speed for the ten-key, split tap method was found to be the fastest. The largest numbers of text entry errors were recorded on the fourth and fifth days of the experiment.
